From 23 to 27 June, Room 102 of the School of Management, Hospitality and Tourism (ESGHT) at the University of Algarve’s, Penha Campus, will host the physical component of the Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) “Soft Skills in a Modern Workplace – The Role of Human Capital Management in Ensuring High Empowerment”.

Promoted within the framework of the European University of the Seas (SEA-EU) and funded by the Erasmus+ programme, this intensive course is organised by the University of Algarve in collaboration with the University of Gdańsk (Poland) and the University of Split (Croatia), which join UAlg in delivering the BIP. The programme is coordinated by professors Joaquim Pinto Contreiras (UAlg), Agata Borowska (Gdańsk), and Senka Borovak Zekan (Split).

Aimed at students with an interest in Human Resource Management, Organisational Psychology, Intercultural Communication, and multigenerational workplace dynamics, the BIP combines theoretical and practical content in a hybrid format, providing a learning experience aligned with current labour market demands.

The virtual component, running from 16 to 20 June, involves students and lecturers from SEA-EU partner universities. Topics such as mental resilience, non-verbal communication, and cultural adaptability are explored through contributions from international experts.

The physical component, taking place in Faro, includes interactive workshops, thematic sessions, cultural visits, and outdoor activities. Sessions will be led by lecturers from the three coordinating universities.

This BIP aligns with the strategic priorities of SEA-EU and ESGHT, promoting higher education internationalisation, pedagogical innovation, and the development of transversal skills in a global context.
